Junior Indoor Program

The Legacy Academy junior indoor program is a comprehensive junior program for aspiring high performance athletes. This program is for athletes looking to develop and train high quality technical skills and a thorough understanding of the game, this is the program for you. Our goal is to equip you with the skills to boost you into the NextGen and Provincial pathways.

At Legacy, we focus on building a positive team culture and creating the right environment for our athletes to achieve growth.  As always, we challenge our athletes to 'Be Great' both on and off the pitch.

Our development program is run in partnership with the Field Hockey Canada NextGen Program, and is designed and delivered by coaches who have played and coached at the national and university level, and have had experience coaching athletes from grassroots through to the junior national team. We understand what it takes to have long term success in the game and we know how to equip our young athletes with a solid foundation of technical skills for hockey, and an understanding of systems and tactics for how the game is played.

At Legacy, we value live game action as the best way to prepare for competitive matches. We will have match opportunities either inter-squad or against challenging outside opposition. This year, we will also look to send teams to competitive tournaments both within and outside Alberta. We will also be filming our matches and using classroom video sessions to build a comprehensive understanding of the game.

This program is made up of a dedicated group of athletes who work hard to improve themselves not just as athletes, but as teammates and as people. We challenge all of our athletes to live the values of 'Be Great'. We focus on building a positive team culture and creating the right environment for our athletes to achieve growth.
